The holidays can be an especially difficult time for those who have experienced the loss of a loved one. Thursday October 29, 2009 - Demystifying Mysticism

The recent tragedy at the James Arthur Ray sweat lodge that took place at Angel Valley Retreat in Sedona, in which three people died and others fell seriously ill, spawned a lot of speculation by the news about what happened and why.

What interested us was the fact that it seemed that the general public understood so little about the spiritual beliefs that are firmly rooted in mysticism and metaphysics. Even one CNN reporter stated frankly that she had "never heard of a sweat lodge" before this incident.

The New York Times reported about "the comments of a self-described 'channeler' who visited Angel Valley after the retreat. Claiming to have communicated with the dead, the channeler said they had left their bodies in the sweat lodge and chosen not to come back because 'they were having so much fun.'" This comment, to some, would seem to be very callous and insensitive, but for those of us who understand that planet earth is a school, and that nothing is random or without a greater spiritual purpose or reason, that seemingly insensitive comment was not too far-fetched. And, it certainly doesn't get Mr. Ray off the hook to accept responsibility for his part in the sweat lodge tragedy.

Join us in a fascinating discussion about spiritual beliefs as we educate the community at large about the common misconceptions about mysticism. Today Daniel will be talking about his channeling of Elvis, his twin brother on the other side. Daniel will explain about how this all began and then he will go into trance. You will be able to ask questions of Elvis during part of the show.

Dror B. Ashuah is author of the new book, "Conversation with Angels: And So Be It". In the lineage of books like Way of the Peaceful Warrior - A Course In Miracles – and Eckhart Tolle’s The Power of Now – Dror relays a non-linear worldview about the nature of life on Earth and our purpose in the Universe that has been virtually hidden from view. He says that the message from the angels has to do with each of us awakening to our divinity and understanding our role on this earthly journey. Dror Ashuah was born in 1962 in Kfar Giladi, a kibbutz in the northern part of Israel on the Lebanese border. At the age of 19, Dror was enlisted as a soldier in the 1982 “Lebanon War,” where as a member of an elite intelligence unit he became witness to great violence. “It took me years and years to heal myself from the devastation and brutality I saw,” he said.

After the war Dror traveled the world and wound up in the United States to study. In Boston, he received his Bachelors in Art and Minor in Psychology from Massachusetts College of Art. Graduating in 1991, he opened an alternative art gallery. A few years later together with his wife Devora, they launched an interior design business and furniture shops. In 1994, while running his business, he entered Harvard in a program called “Psychology and Human Development”. He graduated with a Masters from Harvard in 1997. “Extremely grateful for the education I received at Harvard, I also came to realize the limits within the field of Psychology. This led to a process of some un-learning and entry into a more non-linear world for Dror. In 2003, the family moved from Boston to New York City after selling their business, and in New York Dror felt freer to pursue his spiritual studies, to meditate and move more deeply inside. “I was in the metropolitan hub of life seeking stillness,” he said. It was at that point, as I quieted my mind completely in the heart of meditation, that the messages began. They’ve been coming ever since.”

Another fun filled show where we talked about all kinds of things. We made sure to talk about the weather for our friend "Down Under" (in Australia). We talked about a Sedona UFO sighting on July 8th that will be featured on June 26 on our "From the Inside Out with Blair Carl" Sedona Talk Radio Show. This caused me to mention the Live Sedona Webcam, because I had seen an alien while watching. Who knows maybe you will see it too! Summer described another yummy recipe. We discussed the Spiritual Tune-Up that will be given by Dr. James Martin Peebles, channeled through Summer Bacon this coming Saturday. We also talked about Eric Miller a local musician who will be performing this weekend at Ken's Cafe. We all laughed when someone on chat told us they were having breakfast and listening to the show.
